|---|---|
| To tell you a little about your Fish Doctors, we can start with their PMIC (predominating malfunction in common). They are fishing addicts. Friends since college, they cannot sleep nor get through a single day without having at least some conversation about fishing. When locked up... I mean... IF locked up in a padded room with no one to talk to, they would simply talk to themselves about water temps, thermoclines, and weather conditions for the week and where to find the fish as a result.
Don\'t let their obsessive behavior concern you though. This mental condition combined with over 65 years of fishing experience means they know how to catch fish. On a more serious note, both of your captains are U.S. Coast Guard licensed. This means they have been through a very intensive training course on navigation and safety in all conditions which could be encountered on the water. Fishing and boating are very safe sports, but it is best to be prepared for anything (see Frequently Asked Questions for more details). | |
| Captain Geoff Grainger | |
|---|---|
| Captain Geoff Grainger is the owner of The Fish Doctors Salmon and Trout Charters. Geoff has 30+ years of fishing experience from the days his grandpa used to take him to the Twin Rivers with a cane pole to fish for bullheads. Geoff has been fishing the Great Lakes for salmon and trout for over 20 years. Geoff's conservation contributions with the DNR as a volunteer creel clerk and his participation in a mercury contamination survey have been featured in Wisconsin Outdoor News and Wisconsin Sportsman magazine. Geoff left his day job of six years with a certain Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturing mogul to be a full-time fisherman. This is testament to his addiction to fishing.
"The unique thing about fishing for salmon and trout in Lake Michigan, is it is as much, if not more fun, to take people out and put them on fish. The excitement of reeling in a big fish out there is infectious. I can't get enough of it. I could be out there every single day." | |
| Captain Chris Behling | |
|---|---|
| Captain Chris Behling can be found at the helm or serving as the boat's first mate. You are not likely to find too many licensed captains serving as a first mate, but with his fishing experience, you want to have him on the boat in whatever capacity you can get him. Chris has chased anything and everything that swims. His passion for fishing Lake Michigan is rivaled only by the calling to fish perch and walleye on Lake Winnebago. If we were on the upper east coast, he would be known as the "old salt" because of his sea time. Absent a fresh water equivalent, Captain Geoff just calls him the "Master Baiter." Captain Chris has a son (8 years old) that can out-fish most kids twice his age. He is the First-Mate in training. | |
